For Beginners
If you've never ridden a horse and you're interested in learning we take a steady approach to build a basic knowledge of horsemanship and consistent interaction to facilitate relationships as well as skills to become a better rider.
What that would look like for your first lesson would be introduction to a horse, teaching of basic approach and handling of equines followed by ground work, grooming and saddling.
Your first few lesson starts off with teaching ground work basics which helps establish skills required in horsemanship such as awareness of your own body and what your body is communicating to your equine partner. How to move with a horse and how to get them to move. Better understanding of these skills from the ground are shown to vastly improve the interaction for both horse and rider under saddle. At the end of your first lesson will be brief walk on horse back lead by an instructor. Skills such as steering, body control for trot and canter will be added in subsequent lessons.
For intermediate and advanced Riders
If you've taken lessons somewhere else or have had some basic skills practiced at home and are looking to fine tune those skills we offer our intermediate/advanced lessons.
Your first lesson will be a get to know your horse session with ground work, grooming and saddling. Followed by a basic skills test on horseback to ascertain your skill level. Subsequent lessons will provide you with an education on new skills as well as fine tuning of existing practices. Part of each lesson is always building better communication skills with your equine partner and refining your abilities in equine communication thru observation.
